Who's perspective?

The students of Oakland High are designing spaces, facades, urban landscapes and environments. In the process of understanding point perspective, they re-imagine their world and create places entirely unique to their experience. These scenes reflect the fundamental challenge of communication through the language of architectural design, to express a three-dimensional world on a two dimensional plane. To see these students engage in that struggle is encouraging. How much of these images are a reflection of the world as they perceive it to be as opposed to the world as the would like it to be? And how thorough an understanding of the former must one have in order to be able to express the latter?
